Huawei announced that the company plans to set up a new company or purchase a local manufacturer in Brazil for mobile phone and tablet PC production, according to a September 14, 2011 report by the Commercial Times of Taiwan. Currently, Huawei's telecom infrastructure business accounts for approximately 75% of the company's overall sales in Brazil and mobile phone and CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) business together accounts for the rest 25%, according to the same source. Huawei projects that mobile phone and CPE business in Brazil will reach year-on-year growth rate of around 80%, and the telecom infrastructure business will merely see around 10% advance.
